I just went into the Deep Web: the black market is full of drugs and social security numbers

I just went into the deep web, sometimes called the dark web. It is a scary place. Let me start off by saying you will not find more illegal stuff in one place than the deep web. My heart was beating faster and I swallowed my saliva as the tor browser loaded up. Everything loads slowly and sites navigate at a crawling rate from what i can only imagine is due to underlying CPU usage that uses your computer and browser power to data mine in the background and you unsuspecting browse.

The deep web is basically the unlisted area of the internet, it is not accessible via google or with windows explorer so most people can not get there and then most others don't want to. It really remind you of the internet in the 90s when everything was html and very basic in css style. Pop ups and warnings everywhere like the old wild wild west of early computer browsing. Most of these marketplaces require extremely hard to access areas where you need an account and browser real time authentication to enter. There is no javascript or other injections allowed. Every site goes deeper and deeper until eventually you reach the black market.

The deep web, invisible web, or hidden web are parts of the World Wide Web whose contents are not indexed by standard web search-engines. The opposite term to the deep web is the "surface web", which is accessible to anyone/everyone using the Internet.

Surfing the dark web might not be illegal. But visiting certain sites, or making certain purchases, through the dark web is illegal. If you use the dark web to purchase illegal drugs or firearms, that's illegal.

It is important to note that if you plan on accessing the deep and dark web you should use a VPN and a deep web browser like TOR.

The deep web is broken down into layers like an onion and all web links similar to URLs are essentially peels you navigate on the onion.

Most of the addresses for pages are embedded and protected by several layers including mnemonic passfrases like bitcoin wallets. An example of a deep web address is ushfkdu79378.onion

I immediately stumbled upon large quantities of drugs, fake ids, social security numbers, hacking exploits and money laundering outfits. All transactions done on the deep web involve cryptocurrencies

I suggest you do not access the dark web, it is full of exploits and immediately targets your network and your computer. Please keep in mind proper precautions if you plan to browse the dark web yourself.

TikTok the new Crypto AG? Social Engineering. The oldest form of hacking

When I was in high school I was still learning about white hat hacking, the dark web, and social engineering.  I learned phone freaking the best and you can say I was an old school hacker.  (Phreaking is a slang term coined to describe the activity of a culture of people who study, experiment with, or explore telecommunication systems, such as equipment and systems connected to public telephone networks)

Like a lot of other kids I knew, we were able to get into things fairly easily, you just had to understand the concept of how the systems were built. People built things to function but they didn't give much thought to someone using the system the wrong way.

Who remembers the US company set up to spy on other countries? So you may already know that this is not a new game. Read this exerpt from the Washington Post:

For more than half a century, governments all over the world trusted a single company to keep the communications of their spies, soldiers and diplomats secret.
The company, Crypto AG, got its first break with a contract to build code-making machines for U.S. troops during World War II. Flush with cash, it became a dominant maker of encryption devices for decades, navigating waves of technology from mechanical gears to electronic circuits and, finally, silicon chips and software.

But what none of its customers ever knew was that Crypto AG was secretly owned by the CIA in a highly classified partnership with West German intelligence. These spy agencies rigged the company’s devices so they could easily break the codes that countries used to send encrypted messages.
Shocked? Me either. Social engineering, I learned from hacking books in the 90's, could be as simple as picking up a piece of paper in the garbage that has someone's login or password information written down, or more updated with the times, using mobile applications to get users personal info to access their personal information or maybe even sell their ad profile. Who has access to all your personal account info? Owners of mobile applications. Owners like of... oh let's just say TikTok, or Facebook. I know what information you are privileged to and can influence because I have made social media applications myself and am a Google Certified Developer.

Are people still trusting HTC devices? I still see them in people hands. Does anyone remember that three executives at Taiwanese smartphone giant HTC Corporation arrested?

Back on August 31, 2013, three top HTC product designers were arrested in Taiwan on suspicion of stealing trade secrets and submitting fraudulent expense claims after HTC filed a complaint with the Taiwan Investigation Bureau. The trio allegedly planned to set up a competing design company and stole trade secrets related to HTC’s upcoming “Sense 6.0 UI” design. In addition, they allegedly submitted false commission fees from an external design firm, although the design work was performed in-house.

Do we trust HTC devices not to steal American Information or social trending influence?
Was tiktok a spy software operation to leak to almost all America's youth?

An additional layer of intrigue and scandal came to light when reports surfaced that the arrested executives were allegedly passing on the confidential information to the Chengdu city government in China (although it is unclear thus far whether the executives succeeded in passing off any secrets). According to these reports, the Chengdu government was prepared to pay for the start-up costs of the competing company in exchange for the HTC trade secrets.

The arrest of the HTC executives will likely be the first high-profile test of Taiwan’s recently toughened criminal Trade Secrets Act. Earlier this year, Taiwan amended the Act because of increasing concern about unlawful trade secret disclosure to competing companies in China and South Korea. The amendment implemented tougher penalties against offenders who illegally acquire, use, or leak commercial secrets, including increased jail time and fines.
The act calls for even steeper penalties for international industrial espionage. In cases where the perpetrator steals trade secrets for the purpose of using them in foreign jurisdictions, the amended act provides for up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to TWD $50 million.

U.S. employers who recruit Taiwanese talent should take note of these latest developments. Taiwan’s passage of a stiffer trade secrets law, followed by a high-profile prosecution, could signal that Taiwan is getting more serious about going after suspected theft of secrets from Taiwanese companies. U.S. companies who have operations in China, South Korea, or other Asian countries should pay particular attention that their subsidiaries and affiliates are taking appropriate steps to ensure that new Taiwanese hires are not bringing with them the trade secrets or confidential information of their former employer, and that they aren’t poaching Taiwanese talent to exploit their knowledge of their former employer’s secrets.

This is one of my favorite stories. If you are interested then this is the juiciest of all.

In 1946, a group of Russian children from the Vladimir Lenin All-Union Pioneer Organisation (sort of a Soviet scouting group) presented a carved wooden replica of the Great Seal of the United States to Averell Harriman, the U.S. Ambassador to the Soviet Union.
The gift, a gesture of friendship to the USSR's World War II ally, was hung in the ambassador’s official residence at Spaso House in Moscow. It stayed there on a wall in the study for seven years until, through accident and a ruse, the State Department discovered that the seal was more than a mere decoration.
It was a bug.

The Soviets had built a listening device—dubbed “The Thing” by the U.S. intelligence community—into the replica seal and had been eavesdropping on Harriman and his successors the whole time it was in the house. “It represented, for that day, a fantastically advanced bit of applied electronics,” wrote George Kennan, the ambassador at the time the device was found. “I have the impression that with its discovery the whole art of intergovernmental eavesdropping was raised to a new technological level.”

With all of this information we are only exposed to the surface. Only those who get caught are then known, how many companies are shell organizations of spy networks stealing every piece of information and picture we put online?

American companies have even been exposed, what about our enemies? What would they do if they got all the information they needed? They may already have.

I met an elderly woman who has been wishing her whole life to publish a book she has written. She told me a company was going to publish her book but she couldn't start yet. I felt intruding asking but I wondered why she hasn't published yet. She had just told me moments ago she had three complete novels she had written but she was saving up to start to publish her first book. I asked her more and eventually she reluctantly she told me she was saving to publish the first book because they charge $3500 PER release.

She was kind and just the sweetest old lady you could ever meet. She offered to share one of her manuscripts with me and I humbly accepted.

BUY HER BOOK NOW

I read the first 10 pages or so and I came back to her and I just had to tell her how amazing she was at writing and just how descriptive and insightful her writing was and she blushed.

I couldn't help but tell her that I had a company that from time to time deals with publishing and I offered to help her start it. She was so joyful and couldn't keep from smiling from ear to ear. I told her I'd do the same package that company was offering but for 10% of the cost. She almost fell to tears she was so mesmerized. I felt great knowing I could deliver her a goal she had already completed years ago but felt so out of reach from moving forward.

We made an agreement and when we met for the contract signing she was trembling.  I asked her if everything was alright and she she smiled with joy. She told me she was so happy to live out this dream and she shook my hand as she stood up and said what do I call you? Are you my manager? And I said you are an amazing author and I was lucky enough to been your assisting publisher.

She thanked me several more times and she remained lit up and full of emotion for the rest of the day we shared passing each other from time to time.

The joy and satisfaction I felt was so real and true, I knew I was helping someone accomplish something and I couldn't believe that our brief conversation had led to an opportunity that she had made seem so grand and important.

She asked me what I thought of her writing in a serious tone and I told her you have always been a great writer finally people will be able to see it.

Delores Thomas is releasing her novel The Multicultural Antique Shop next week on Amazon

Today we are interviewing Jeremy D Higgs about his new non-fiction book, titled "Technology & Science Today.”

Who do you think would most appreciate this book?
This book really targets non-technology buffs and introduces new readers to the concepts.

What inspired you to write this book?
I was working on the Open Induction Wireless Theory and wanted to publish its overview.

Tell us how your interest in science and technology developed.
I began using technology at an early age, my parents are younger in age and we always had the newest technology in our home. My dad was especially interested in new technologies growing up.

You’re also an energy theorist. For people unfamiliar with this field, can you tell us about it?
I was the person to identify and develop the theory for complete wireless buildings where you do not need to charge any device via a cable.

Can you share with us about wireless energy theory?
Imagine a world where you do not plug in your phone when you get home, your laptop charges on its own while in a coffee shop, or you experience a high school that is designated as a charging facility.

What tell us about the phenomenon of open induction?
Electronic cars keep going forever without gasoline and a patient using hearing aids can depend on the battery for a lifetime. This is our future and is closer than you think. The open Induction Concept is a technology innovation proposal that stems from the initial technology use of induction mobile charging similar to todays trending wireless phone charging.

Wireless charge pads are truly touch-less charging however the energy that is emitted is low and needs a close placement to work, however in theory, if you increase the energy rate you would be able to increase the induction distance.

Did writing the book take you to unexpected places or reveal things you hadn’t thought about before?

I wanted to publish part of the wireless charging theory in a book as soon as possible, it has opened up a few doors for me.

Can you tell us a bit about your writing process?
I am not much of a writer; being in programming has helped me learn a little more about the process myself.

What was the most challenging aspect of writing the book?
Publishing it.

How have readers responded to your book so far?
The response has really been amazing, I am so thankful that it has been well received in the community so far.

What do you have in mind for your next writing project?
I hope to publish my theory in detail after the patent is finished.

Is there anything else you'd like potential readers to know about your book?
I would like people to know this is an easy read, most people would say around the 6th grade reading level. It is simple to understand and follow, do not be afraid of the content.

Technology & Science Today a book from Author Jeremy D Higgs

I wrote the book because I wanted to publish my Wireless Energy Theory and expose gps technology tracking on our mobile phones with adding a little bit of technology basic fluff geared to be a book that will get a new to technology person involved in the subject. The large text adds for an easy read and short sections are created with my ADHD mind in mind!
I hope everyone can see the real reason your phone knows where you have gone and where you might be going. The wireless energy theory I published will most certainly come to fruition in our life time. I only suspect a large company with a large budget may beat me to the punch. I would still love to see my theory come to life regardless of who ends up with the credit, it is our future. A work without any cables for appliances, electronics, tv's, medical equipment and more.
